| 1. BasicsThe stat priority for a Survival Hunter is:
Agility;
Weapon DPS;
Versatility;
Critical Strike;
Haste;
Mastery.
These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations usingSimulation Craft.
2. Getting a Better Understanding2.1. Choosing GearPawn is an add-on that calculates the value of items based on the stat weights you input for your character. We recommend this Pawn string, maintained by Azortharion, which has all the up to date stat weights needed.
2.2. Statistics ExplanationsAgility is your primary statistic. You should look for it in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Attack Power, which determines the damage your abilities do.
Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and abilities.
Haste increases your attack speed and Focus regeneration, reduces your Global Cooldown from 1.5 seconds to a minimum of 0.750 seconds, and reduces the cooldown on your  Flanking Strike,  Mongoose Bite,  Throwing Axes, and  Butchery abilities.
Mastery, through  Mastery: Hunting Companion gives all of your pet's attacks a chance to generate a charge of Mongoose Bite.
Versatility increases all your damage and healing done, and decreases all damage taken.
