| Leveling 1-700 with Draenor recipes (cheaper option)First, visit your Alchemy trainer at Dalaran, one of main cities of old Azeroth, or at Ashran near the NPCs I will mention below. Just walk up to a guard in a city, you can ask them where the Alchemy trainer is located.
You have to get a [A Treatise on the Alchemy of Draenor] to upgrade your maximum Alchemy skill to 700. This scroll will also teach you the recipes that you will use for leveling.
There are three ways to obtain this scroll:
- You can buy it from vendors at Ashran. Horde players can find Joshua Alvarez at Warspear, and Alliance players can find Katherine Joplin at Stormshield. (You need level 91 to get the quest that let's you fly to Ashran. You can pick it up at your garrison.)
- If you build an Alchemy lab at your garrion, you can buy the scroll from one of the NPC at your Alchemy Lab.
- If you are still leveling your character (90-92), you have can loot a quest item to start a quest chain.
- Alliance: Loot [Mysterious Flask] from Draenor mobs or Karnoth during Shadows Awaken quest.
- Horde: Loot [Mysterious Flask] from Draenor mobs or Dorogg the Ruthless druring The Butcher of Bladespire quest.
You will get scroll after you complete the small quest chain from the flask.
- 1 - 650
These are the recipes I recommend for leveling:[Draenic Agility Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Fireweed
[Draenic Armor Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Frostweed
[Draenic Intellect Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Talador Orchid
[Draenic Strength Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Nagrand Arrowbloom
[Draenic Mana Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Gorgrond Flytrap
You will only learn the mana potion recipe from the scroll, but you can buy the rest of them from vendors at Ashran. Horde players can findJoshua Alvarez at Warspear, and Alliance players can find Katherine Joplin at Stormshield. You can also buy these recipes from the Alchemy Lab at your garrison.
So, basically get either 975 from one of the herbs above and make 325 from the same potion (1 potions gives 2 skill-up), or you can mix it up and get like 195 herbs from each and make 60 from each potions. It depends on which herb is cheaper.
NOTE: Check your Auction House for cheap  [Alchemical Catalyst]. If they are below 5 gold, you should buy the recipe for  [Draenic Philosopher's Stone] with [Secrets of Draenor Alchemy]. You can sell this trinket for 25 gold to the vendor, so if you buy cheap Alchemical Catalyst, it basically costs 1 True Iron Ore to make. You should save atleast 250 [Alchemical Catalyst] for the 650-700 part, because if you can't buy 3500 of these, it's better to use them at later parts.
- 650 - 700At this point it's worth to check again the Yseralline Seed prices on your realm, because if you level with Legion recipes, you will only need 144 Yseralline Seed instead of the 400 herbs with Draenor recipes. If you farm the herbs it's definitely better to switch to Legion recipes at this point.
Create one [Secrets of Draenor Alchemy]. Use the [Secret of Draenor Alchemy] to buy one of the flask recipes at your Alchemy Lab, or in Ashran. Horde players can find Joshua Alvarez at Warspear, and Alliance players can find Katherine Joplin at Stormshield.
[Draenic Agility Flask] - 4 Fireweed, 4 Starflower
[Draenic Intellect Flask] - 4 Talador Orchid, 4 Starflower
[Draenic Stamina Flask] - 4 Talador Orchid, 4 Nagrand Arrowbloom
[Draenic Strength Flask] - 4 Gorgrond Flytrap, 4 Nagrand Arrowbloom
You have to make 50 from one of these flasks, and for that you need 200+200 herbs. You can make more than one type of flask if you don't have enough herbs for one, but then you have to wait 1 day for each recipe, and in that case I would recommend switching to Legion recipes.
NOTE: Check your Auction House for cheap [Alchemical Catalyst]. If they are below 5 gold, you should buy the recipe for [Draenic Philosopher's Stone] and make it instead of the flasks. You can sell this trinket for 25 gold to the vendor, so if you buy cheap Alchemical Catalyst, it basically costs 1 True Iron Ore to make.
Leveling 1-700 with Legion recipesThis part requires level 100 or higher.
First, visit your Alchemy trainer Deucus Valdera at Dalaran. Just walk up to a guard in the city, you can ask them where the Alchemy trainer is located.
1 - 4After you learn Alchemy, you can pick up the quest Get Your Mix On from Deucus Valdera. The quest reward is  [Legion Alchemist]. Finish this quest before you start making the potions below! Don't make the mistake of making 200 potions while your max Achemy is capped at 75.You will need 9  [Yseralline Seed] to make the potions for the quest.The recipes for the potions and the Crystal Vials are sold by Patricia Egan. She is in the same room where the trainer is.
4 - 236 - 232 x
 [Ancient Healing Potion] - 928 Yseralline Seed
Don't forget to buy the rank 2 healing potion recipe from Patricia Egan! You will discover the rank 3 potion recipe from making these.Keep these, you will use them later. If you reach rank 3 and get even more extra potions, you should keep all of those too, you might use them later for leveling to 800.
236 - 468 - 232 x
 [Ancient Mana Potion] - 1160 Yseralline Seed
Keep these, you will use them for the next recipe.468 - 700 or 650 - 700 - 232 x
 [Ancient Rejuvenation Potion] 232 Ancient Healing Potion, 232 Ancient Mana PotionIf you start from 650, finish the quest mentioned at the 1-4 part, then make 16 Ancient Healing Potion, 16 Ancient Mana Potion, and 16 Ancient Rejuvenation Potion. You will need 144 Yseralline Seed.
Leveling 700 - 800You can find farming guides for every herb on the site! Check them out:  Dreamleaf farming,  Aethril farming,  Foxflower farming,  Fjarnskaggl farming,  Starlight Rose farming
If you plan to make your Alchemy trinket  [Infernal Alchemist Stone], then you should wait until you reach exactly 739, then craft the trinket. You get 5 points for crafting the trinket when it's orange. It turns yellow at 740, so if you craft it at 739, your skill will jump to 744.
The Legion Alchemy recipes and the Crystal Vials are sold by Patricia Egan. She is in the same room where the trainer is.
- 700 - 740
40 x [Rank 3 - Ancient Healing Potion] - 160 Yseralline SeedThis is Rank 3 potion! If you used Draenor recipes to level alchemy, then you probably didn't discover rank 3 earlier, so you can only make the [Rank 2 - Ancient Healing Potion] up to 720. You will have to jump to the next section and start making flasks.
You can also just try to craft healing potions until you get the rank 3 recipe. Sometimes you get it after a few craft, but for me it was around 80 until I finally got the recipe.
Alchemy recipes are unlocked by doing quests given by Deucus Valdera at Dalaran. You will need level 110 to unlock the recipes used below. The quests are pretty straight forward, so I will not write down the details of every quests. You will unlock the flask recipes sold by Patricia Egan after you finish "Testing the Calibration" quest. (around 26th quest in the quest chain)
So basically, you should finish every Alchemy quest given by your profession trainer because that's the only way to get the first rank of every recipe.
- 740 - 761
While crafting the rank 2 flasks, you can discover the rank 3 version of that flask. Therefore, it's recommended to wait crafting the recipe below until you get at least one rank 2 flask recipe.You get the three quest for rank 2 flasks right after you get the rank 1 flasks recipes.
 [Rank 2 - Recipe: Flask of the Seventh Demon] is dropped by Cordana Felsong in Heroic Vault of the Wardens.
Choose only one:
7 x  [Rank 2 - Flask of Ten Thousand Scars] - 49 Starlight Rose, 70 Aethril, 70 Dreamleaf
7 x  [Rank 2 - Flask of the Countless Armies] - 49 Starlight Rose, 70 Aethril, 70 Foxflower
7 x  [Rank 2 - Flask of the Whispered Pact] - 49 Starlight Rose, 70 Fjarnskaggl, 70 Dreamleaf
7 x  [Rank 2 - Flask of the Seventh Demon] - 49 Starlight Rose, 70 Fjarnskaggl, 70 Foxflower
- 761 - 782
If you discovered a rank 3 flask recipes, then you can make that one up to 780. If not, then you just have to make more flasks until you discover one.7 x [Any of the Rank 3 Flasks] - 14 Starlight Rose, 28 Herb, 28 Herb
Herb type will depend on which flask you choose.
- 782 - 800
If you want to use Legion recipes, then the only way to reach 800 is by making rank 3 flasks. These flask recipes will be yellow between 780-790, and green from 790 to 800. You will have to make around 40 flask for this part, but it will greatly depend on your luck, might be a lot more or a lot fewer.40 x [Any of the Rank 3 Flasks] - 280 Starlight Rose, 400 Herb, 400 Herb
Herb type will depend on which flask you choose.
Note: Goblins have +15 Alchemy skill, so this part will be a lot easier for them. An extra 15 Alchemy skill means recipes stay orange/yellow for 15 more points.
